Overcoming Feeling Like an Outsider

A significant part of trauma healing and spiritual growth requires us to overcome feeling like an outsider in this crazy-making narcissistic world. Chosen children of God will feel like outsiders because we don't have the same wicked mindset as narcissists and that sets us apart along with our unique qualities given to us by God. We are also set apart by the willingness to change; to be transformed by the renewing of our minds and not be conformed to this world.

As we learn more about who we are in Christ, we will feel more like an outsider to this world because this world hates Jesus. I say this often in many videos on YouTube and elsewhere because we do live in a world that hates Jesus. It takes extreme courage to keep going in such a narcissistic world with Jesus and God guiding our steps because it is not us who walk but Christ who walks through us now! Galatians 2:20.

While we navigate through this fallen world, we start to notice how narcissists are all the same when it comes to behaviors and the way they think. Naturally, in the beginning, we will think there is something wrong with us because we realize we don't think the way they do nor do we want to behave the way they do. We are going through necessary changes to become the best version of ourselves that God intended for us to become and that isn't an easy task with the pressures of the world around us.

However, we do learn how to deal with the negative feeling that creeps in from time to time that wants us to feel like we don't belong; that we are an outsider by changing that thinking! We learn to remind ourselves that we have every right to be here on this planet as the narcissists do and we have a higher calling to serve in the kingdom of God. Narcissists don't have that privilege. Write that down! Narcissists don't get to serve a higher calling in the kingdom of God; in fact, narcissists are not allowed in the kingdom of God!

Overcoming the feeling as though we don't fit in, aka as if we are an outsider, requires a mindset shift. We learn to start thinking that there is plenty of room on this planet for us to do what we need to do for God and we have just as much right to be here as anyone else. After all, God put us here and He put us here with purpose. Thus, we have every right to be here and nothing can stop God! I talk more about how nothing can stop God in this YouTube video. When we finally realize that we do belong because we are a part of God's kingdom, everything changes for the better.

Once we learn to change that thinking and remind ourselves that we do belong in this fallen world because God put us here to do great things, it becomes easier to overcome feeling like an outsider. We stop telling ourselves that we are an outsider! Remember, I teach frequently about how important it is to watch what we tell ourselves because our thoughts are spiritual power and will impact our lives accordingly.
