Overcoming Fear by Kicking Worry to The Curb
“Most people spend their lives worrying about things that may never happen.”
A wise and beloved Aunt of mine said this during a visit to our home. It resonated deeply because of the truth behind it. Living day in and day out worrying about things that are outside of our control only leads to us having less control of ourselves.
That kind of worrying feeds the amygdala system, the thing in the brain that controls our fight or flight responses. Constant worry fuels fear and creates unnecessary stress, which can lead to health issues. Most people know about all that, but when fear overtakes the mind, it flies right out the window.
I go into a little more detail about narcissism is full of worry and fear in my books and on my YouTube channel.
What is the purpose of fear?
In a nutshell, it is to keep a person traumatized so they are easier to control. Narcissistic abusers are notorious for instilling fear in their victims for that very reason - control. When controlled by fear, people are easier to manipulate and deceive. See a pattern forming?
Worrying leads to fear, then fear opens up a portal for others to control you, and when under their control, they can play you like a puppet on a string. I cover a lot more about this on the YouTube channel and on Quora, as well as in other blogs. Fear is the driving force for narcissistic abuse, so it should come as no surprise that the devil needs to keep people living in fear.
Narcissistic abuse is not new. It has been around since the beginning of humanity. It is becoming more transparent due to advanced technology and survivors speaking up. However, many still don’t know they are being abused and that fear mixed with cognitive dissonance is the reason they cannot see it.
And it all begins with excessive worrying over things that may never happen, as well as things that are not really a big deal. I understand what someone considers a big deal may not be perceived as such by another. However, once a person reaches the level of awareness necessary to see clearly, things start to make sense and fear dissipates into the abyss.
When in a state of heightened consciousness, we realize there isn’t anything to fear.
