The Meaning to Letting Patience Have Her Perfect Works

We live in an impatient world, as many have been conditioned to get what they want, when they want it. It isn’t supposed to be that way.

Patience is a virtue, so we have been told. Yet when we want something and don’t receive it right away, we bring about our own disappointment. Once we recognize that we are responsible for our thoughts and actions, and turn to God for wisdom, we realize the true meaning of patience.

For we are told to let patience have her perfect works.

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

But what does that mean? What is God telling us?

The meaning of patience is not about what we want, it is about what God wants. It is learning that our time and our life is not about us, and that everything happens on God’s time.

Sure, it may be a challenge to accept that if still trauma bonded to the world, but that bond can be broken. Many ask why God doesn’t answer their prayer, and I assure you that He does. The answer just may not be the one you expected nor envisioned.

Patience comes with preparations and we go through a season of restoration first. When something we want or plan for doesn’t happen right away, we must understand there is a reason. The reasons are many, but a very important one is preparation. Everything happens on God’s time, provided it is His will.

A lot of that stems from the system of narcissism's indoctrination of impatience, part one and part two. And a whole lot more is on the YouTube channel.

When something doesn’t happen quickly, it means you have more preparation to do and that it takes time for Him to do His work through you. It also means you could already be living your dream, but it doesn’t look the way you envisioned it to look. Yet the outcome will be exactly what it should be.

Have you ever spent time preparing a new meal? You make a list, shop for the ingredients, and rush to the kitchen to get started. You have a picture in mind of how the meal will look, smell, and taste. You follow the instructions on the recipe card, page, or app.

Everything is prepared accordingly and while cooking, the meal smells great. However, once finished and ready to eat, the meal looks nothing like you imagined it would. Feeling a little disappointed, you go ahead and take a bite. It turns out the meal taste fantastic!

While it didn’t look the way you imagined it should, you took your time and waited patiently for the food to cook. You followed the instructions with diligence and due to your patience, it turned out to be an enjoyable meal. Letting patience have her perfect works doesn’t have any bearing on how something will look.

It is all about the outcome. The outcome will be great when we understand that to have patience is to always be preparing, as God isn’t finished with us because He is preparing us to do His will.

Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…
